My name is Eaindra. I come from a lower-middle class family in Yangon. My father is a car broker, and my mother is a housewife. My father is the sole breadwinner of my family. So, he has always had to struggle to meet the financial needs of the entire family. My parents have had to struggle throughout their life due to lack of decent education. So, they have high expectations of their children. They want us to gain a better education, enjoy a more comfortable life, and become good citizens of the society.
Much to the relief of my parents, I passed my matriculation examination with five distinctions. Luckily, I received a full scholarship to attend courses in Java Programming, creating websites with HTML and CSS, and computer systems in Yangon. Attending computer courses helped me discover my genuine interest in computer science. Since then, I have decided to study more about computer science and pursue it as a lifelong career with the aim of working towards the development of technology in Myanmar.
I attended a number of education fairs, and conversed with organizers and attendees regarding further education in Myanmar and foreign countries. Later, I discovered that I would like to continue my study in a developed country. Studying in a developed country will enable me to pursue a better education with access to state-of-the-art facilities and amazing professors. I believe that it will give me exceptional learning experiences, which are difficult to get in my own country. Besides, following my study, I will be able to contribute to my community with what I have learned from my study program.
However, the exorbitant amount of tuition fees has been my primary concern to study in a developed country. Hence, I started looking for scholarships and student loans available for students from developing countries. After doing some research, I discovered that a number of students from Pre-Collegiate Program of Yangon (PCP) have received scholarships from foreign universities. So, in 2017, I decided to apply for their 16-month Liberal Arts program in order to prepare myself for the upcoming challenges while studying abroad.

During my student life at PCP, I came to realize how hard the senior students had tried to receive scholarships. Moreover, I experienced difficulties and failures along with joy and accomplishment. I learned a lot from classes such as philosophy, sociology, and economics. Furthermore, I had new learning experiences through field trips, group projects, assignments, and presentations. Additionally, I discovered the essential role of technology in education, economics and environmental sectors and how I can apply my knowledge and skills related to computer science in the future.
After completing the PCP program , I started my internship at Myanmar Youth Empowerment Opportunities (MYEO) as a tech team member. During my internship, I was assigned to develop Messenger Chatbots for their Facebook Page, Digital Skills online course, and Dream with MYEO scholarship information package.
Through this experience, I have learned how to create chatbots for administrators and users. Thanks to the capacities of each team members and the effective teamwork, these chatbots have been successfully launched to the public. Moreover, achieving this success motivates me to continue my study in computer science.
Currently, I am studying at Jacobs University in Germany with a partial scholarship and limited family contribution. I chose this university since they offer special exchange programs for the students and provide the best facilities for computer science students. During my time here, I would like to develop effective research and analytical skills in order to create application platforms and artificial intelligence programs to be used in Myanmar.
